Product Architecture

Ola City is built around seven pillars that form a closed-loop system: users learn to unlock work, contribute to produce outcomes, get evaluated fairly, have rewards recorded on the ledger, build reputation, receive the OLA token, while businesses supply demand through campaigns. These seven pillars aren't separate — they form a flywheel that spins faster the more it runs:

The more people do good work → the higher the quality → the more campaigns businesses launch → the more high-paying work there is → the more contributors are drawn in. Below is each pillar in detail.

4.1. Learn & Earn

Users take short courses to unlock new skills and get paid OLA upon completion. Each skill is verified through an assessment, which helps:

  • Unlock new, better-matched tasks.
  • Get matched with higher-paying work next time.
  • Gradually build up the contributor's competency profile.

The principle: learning goes hand in hand with getting paid — self-improvement isn't a cost, it's the first step toward earning. This is also how Ola City expands its skill supply to match market demand: when a type of task grows, the platform unlocks the corresponding course to train that workforce.

4.2. Tasks & Contribute

Contributors carry out meaningful tasks for real businesses — from micro-tasks to expert-level work. The main task categories:

  • Data labeling — preparing and labeling training/testing data for AI.
  • Content writing — drafting, editing, and standardizing content.
  • Surveys & research — collecting real-world opinions, data, and feedback.
  • Audio & transcription — recording audio, converting speech to text, checking audio quality.
  • Photo & video review — moderating and classifying image and video content.
  • Data entry — digitizing and structuring data.
Task categoryConcrete work examples
Data labelingLabeling images/text, bounding objects, classifying AI training data
Content writingDrafting, editing, standardizing, and localizing content
Surveys & researchAnswering surveys, collecting real-world opinions and data
Audio & transcriptionConverting speech to text, checking audio quality
Photo & video reviewModerating, classifying, and flagging image/video content
Data entryDigitizing documents, standardizing and structuring data

Tasks are matched to a contributor's verified skill and level, so work quality and reward match their capability. The task catalog expands over time, tracking the performance-payment models of each industry (see Market Context).

4.3. Fair, AI-Assisted Evaluation

Every piece of submitted work is evaluated under the principle: AI only suggests — humans decide:

  • AI assists with screening, anomaly detection, and recommendations, but does not replace the human's final decision.
  • There is an appeals mechanism for contributors to respond when they disagree with a result.
  • There is an anti-fraud mechanism to protect honest workers and ensure quality for businesses.

The goal is an evaluation system that is both fair to workers and trustworthy to businesses — keeping automation in service of people, rather than replacing human judgment.

4.4. Ledger & Payments

All of Ola City's reward flows run on a double-entry ledger with the following technical guarantees:

  • Idempotent — each event is recorded only once, avoiding duplication.
  • Atomic transactions — every balance change either completes fully or doesn't happen at all.
  • Traceable — every balance change is logged, so users can track every unit.

Approved work is credited to the contributor's wallet; the balance can be held as OLA or withdrawn as cash (after completing KYC verification). This "ledger-first payment" design is meant to eliminate vague or withheld rewards.

4.5. Reputation Passport

Contributors build a multi-dimensional reputation profile (oriented around 6 dimensions) — reflecting quality, reliability, and capability over time:

  • Reputation score only increases with quality work.
  • Reputation is portable across the entire system — good work done once is a lasting asset.
  • Higher reputation unlocks higher-paying tasks and better opportunities.

This mechanism ties rewards to real value the user creates, rather than time spent online or number of actions taken. The reputation passport is also the contributor's asset: it accumulates with them, creates a long-term incentive to perform well, and helps businesses confidently choose the right people.

4.6. The OLA Token

OLA is Ola City's reward token, tied to platform usage through three roles:

  • Earn — receive OLA from completed tasks and Learn & Earn courses.
  • Track — every OLA balance change is recorded on the double-entry ledger, transparent down to the unit.
  • Use — hold OLA when leveling up, or withdraw as cash any time (subject to KYC and regional conditions).

OLA is designed as a reward token tied to real work. The long-term value of OLA comes from actual activity on the platform — work completed, evaluated, and paid — not from profit commitments, fixed interest, or promises of price appreciation. (See the OLA Token page for the full breakdown of the token's roles, value loop, and on-chain information.)

4.7. Campaigns for Businesses

Businesses tap into the global human layer through campaigns:

  • Escrowed budgets — launch a campaign with an escrowed budget, guaranteeing the funding source for contributor payments.
  • AI-assisted evaluation & fraud control — improves output quality, reduces spam and abuse.
  • Targeting by skill & country — select the right real human resources for each type of work.
  • Built-in analytics & reconciliation — track progress, quality, and cost throughout the campaign.

The two-sided marketplace model lets businesses scale up data, content, and research work on demand, while contributors get a real, transparent source of work. Escrowed budgets are the linchpin of trust on both sides: workers are guaranteed a funding source, and businesses only disburse funds for validated results.
